In NSW, the NSW Medicines, Poisons & Therapeutic Goods Act 2022 (MP&TG Act 2022)*  is enacted and the Regulations (to be ratified by the Minister before they are in place) will both come to NSW in 2026. These changes affected NSW proprietors and their pharmacies. Under this change, NSW pharmacies may face penalty tiers, on-the-spot fines and significantly higher fines — even up to $44,000 or 2 years’ imprisonment for serious breaches.
